...and as if conservatives liked Sandra Day O'Connor?

Sheesh. Talk about misunderstanding the right. Just because O'Connor was appointed by a Republican doesn't mean she judged as a conservative.

Or maybe Sargent is just setting up a straw man argument figuring most readers will take the bait.

I suppose I will be ignited for writing this, but - - the entire statement is absurd! There is no general comparison between a Latina woman and her experiences and a white male. The comparison is entirely subjective; it depends on the Latin woman, her specific experiences, and the selected white male. Who would make a statement like that in the first place? I suppose I could say that the individual perspectives of a Vietnam-era veteran who is a Navy widow, raised five children, managed to put herself through college and grad school becoming an educator would have more empathy than a black man who was abandoned by his parents, raised by his maternal grandparents, went to an expensive, exclusive prep school and later to Harvard. Give me a break! I wish Americans who managed to succeed would stop dragging around their crutch.

To be clear, O’Connor’s sentiments aren’t identical to Sotomayor’s.

OMG This person's intellect is truly twisted. To be clear, what kind of dumba** would say all of these things and then back track on what he said?? =)) Thank you for the laugh Dear. I truly appreciate it. = )) The left is just so laughable, and they call this logic. - Lorica

"Moderately conservative Sandra Day O'Conner"? Is he thinking about the same Sandra Day O'Conner I am, the one who thought (and used) current foreign laws were relevant to interpretation of our own Constitution?

Seems to me that fits more into "moderately liberal" than conservative.
