With any luck, Zero will have the same personal “disapproval” rating W had at the end of his second term, but “the One” will have it before he’s halfway through his first (and only) term.

Every time I hear the populist theme, I’m reminded of a ploy where one kid won some student office because of his popularity. The difference was however, he bought his popularity with ice cream and they actually got something that was promised, which is where teh no0Bs *change* begins.

Alchemist is confusing personal popularity with policy popularity. It’s true that Obama remains personally popular, primarily due to the adoring MSM coverage he’s received non-stop for the past year.

But if you ask voters about the policies – porkulus, closing Gitmo, nationalizing auto makers, etc. – the results are uniformly negative. Most people simply haven’t attached the policies to the man yet. Once that identification gets past the MSM filters, his popularity will drop as well.

Well according to the latest Rasmussen his approval rating was at 55%. Here's a good roundup of his past approval ratings with different polling agencies. LINK Also, I wouldn't wet my pants with glee over Obama's approval rating. Bush's was about the same during his first 4 months.

Actually, the RCP (real clear politics) average has stayed right around 60 the whole time (with a high at 65). The disapprove has slowly crept up to 35 though. Still, that’s probably just the conservative base

A step in the right direction? The only time Zero took a step in the “right” direction his daddy probably boxed him around and demanded he stay left. And the lesson stayed with him his whole life.

Unfortunately, we, the people, are paying the price for that, and the only reason he has to go over there and “make nicey-nice” is to suck up to those who sponsor attacks against our country anywhere, anytime in the world. When will jackasses realize the only compromise with the Islamists is when we compromise our country and they demand more?

The main point here is Islam relations. I don't see any harm in encouraging Americans to attempt a better understanding...9/11 altered many perceptions of Muslims. His Egypt tour could be a step in the right direction.

The vast majority of “followers” of Islam are like the vast majority of “followers” of Christianity: they have not the stomach nor will to be true followers of what is taught by their religions.

The difference? The primary focus of Christianity is to become “Christ-like”, peaceful, charitable, loving and kind. The primary focus of Islam? To become like Mohammed, who had none of the attributes of the Christ, and force their world vision (caliphate) on all others. Christians, as a general rule, fall far short of their goal. Muslims seem to have a preponderance of fools willing to “go the mile” for their piece of paradise.

It seems like the guy that alledgedly shot Tiller would have been a better fit in Islam.
