And he had the nerve to tell doctors things like “You might be doing a by-pass when you could have just put a, ummm, uhhh, stint in.” You know doctors like to take advice from a guy who calls a nebulizer treatment (for asthma) a “breathalyzer.”

I’m beginning to wonder if these folks have convinced themselves that they really can lower the costs (it really is possible) AND improve the delivery of medical services (this happens all the time in our capitalistic society) without raising taxes beyond what the socialist European states have? Especially since it will be a government bureaucracy?

Our government has shown an incredible ability to produce, maintain and increase ineptitude in every facet it touches (including the military), so why would anyone with more than one active brain cell believe the government will suddenly lose it’s penchant for screwing up everything it touches and become an efficient purveyor of medical services?

Oh, yeah, I forgot. His Holiness will be designing it, with his wonderful and complete (Chicago-style) medical background.
