Sarah Palin’s “flight suit moment” (UPDATE: OK, so it’s not a flight suit – but it’s close enough!)

Posted by: ST on June 25, 2009 at 8:01 pm

Heheh! These photos are sure to make the left scream almost as loud as they did over the Bush flight suit pix :D

Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin watches flight operations from the deck of the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis on Monday, June 22, 2009, during the military joint-training exercise Northern Edge 2009 (Photo by Army Sgt. Ricardo Branch)

You go, girl!

Read the story of her visit to the USS Stennis here.

Friday Update – 6:41 PM: Several readers have noted in the comments that the Gov. is not actually wearing a flight suit but instead safety gear that people have to wear when they go onboard an aircraft carrier. Sorry, I’m not up on military attire. In any event, as I noted in the comments, it’s close enough to looking like a flight suit, and she looks darned cute in it, which is enough to make the left go ballistic. :D

    Shes just Hawt!! :x

  2. I want an 8×10″ glossy, stat! Make it three! :x

  3. Carlos says:

Couple of critical differences here: there’s no “Mission Accomplished” sign behind her, and she in no way resembles a socialist who wants to let the country, our country, be overrun with criminal aliens.

Other than that, she’s a lot better looking than the girly men that had famous poses with military hardware (Bush, Francois K, Dukakis come to mind).

  4. Foxx says:

I see the flight suit but I don’t see pa-, oh wait there she is.

    :d

  5. BIllM says:

Gov. Palin is wearing required safety gear and vest NOT a flight suit. Everyone on a carrier flight deck is required to wear safety helmet/goggles as well as a vest with specific color to designate persons job.

  6. Steve Skubinna says:

Not a flight suit. She’s wearing a float coat and a cranial. You know, I sometimes wear those myself in my line of work, and nobody has ever run out to get a photo.

    Fine. No big deal.

  7. Crazy Carl says:

May not be a flightsuit, but the the left probably will indeed howl once they see her in military air traffic duds. :x

    ….Sara, smiiiiiile! :d/

  9. Lorica says:

Have I told you all just how HAWT she looks in that non flight suit??? Brains, beauty, and common sense, reminds me of my Dear ST. >:d< – Lorica

President George W. Bush could actually fly not just an airplance, but a fighter jet and was prepared to put his life on the line – while others were smoking dope in London, Moscow and Amsterdam.

  11. Not a flight suit? Dang! Obviously I’m not well-versed in military-wear ;) If you click on the link, you’ll see her (and her hubby) in some type of orange suit that looks like it might be flight suit of sorts, too … what is that one for?

In any event, she looks darned cute in military garb and I know the left hates that! :D

  12. I put up video* of her speaking to Alaska National Guard troops in Kosovo this week, just before she was to go to Germany to visit wounded soldiers: Our next commander in chief.

*(Maybe ST already posted this elsewhere — don’t recall, and apologies if it’s a duplication! :"> )

Was on the USS FDR CVA-42. I’m glad safety gear is now worn. The only gear I saw 1956-1959 was ear protection on the flight deck. I was on the island on the starboard side of the ship and the noise was on the boarder of pain.

  14. Carlos says:

Whether she runs for prez in ’12 or not, she at least honestly cares about the troops and her country, unlike a certain leftist muslim-leaning person who makes apology trips to muslim countries.

Was it a photo op? Maybe, maybe not, but at least we know she’s out there giving a hearty “Atta boy!” to the troops whenever she gets the chance.

Thanks for posting these pictures. You shouldn’t be so concerned about how the left is going to react to things.
