No one can say Obama is not a history buff. He’s trying to be successful in reinstituting the Church’s practice in the Middle Ages of having parishioners buying “indulgences”.

Only this time, the “church” is Big Brother and the indulgences to be bought by the unwashed masses are a carbon footprint trade-offs.
