I call that loyalty, not quitting. Quitting is what McCan't did to her. Palin a quitter? I don’t think so. They cannot find any other label to stick on her, because basically they can't put her into one of their neat little stereotypes. Since she is an independent woman who has a family and choose to do what is right by her family, they cannot attack her for that. Since she is a conservative who truly sticks to her principles, they cannot tattoo her with being a hypocrite. Since she knows that all of this attention and legal machinations have hindered her ability to lead the state of ALaksa she did do the right and honorable thing....don't you think that really sticks in their throats? These guys in the Beltway have no other ambition but to be more ambitious and move up the political ladder. To them what she has done just does not compute! So we have her labeled as a "quitter" while Obama has a clearly stated history of notorious ambition for political reasons and power only....gee, isn't that special! More power to Palin! I hope she does something on the independent level and reaches more people that way. Some people that I know who actually voted for Obama are now crying the blues...there might be more resonance for someone who comes to them who is more practical and uses common sense to open their eyes rather than promises and partisanship.
