It's absolutely amazing what is unfolding before our eyes. Our post-racial President is pouring gasoline on this racial fire that should've never been. This upcoming conversation over beer at the White House is nothing more than an effort by the President to get people to overlook the fact that he couldn't even bring himself for offering a sincere apology for his role in all of this. It's as if the President and Prof. Gates are going to teach this "white officer" a thing or two about racial profiling. In reality Sgt. Crowley should be giving the lesson, because he's the only one of the three of them qualified to do so. LINK K

Your headline notes the most important aspect of this whole (now) sordid affair, ST. The black/African-American youth of the country will be told by Obama, Jackson, Sharpton et al that Gates was a hero for “standing up to the man” when in fact they should be told Gates is an abusive racist who only cares that his worldview is the only one that counts, and when that doesn’t happen he is intellectually weak enough not to have a fallback position except to scream “racism”.

How sad.

Would that guy in the WH say the police “acted stupidly,” if in fact it had been 2 black guys actually burglarizing the house? I doubt he would have even commented.
However, Gates being a friend, caused him to go off on the police doing what they were hired to do.

LINK The caller didn't characterize the men as black. Also, she said she saw two suitcases on the porch and that the people might live there. She wasn't sure whether there was a break-in or not.

I keep hearing that the police “Dropped the charges” but I don’t believe they have that authority. The arrest was on 7/16 and charges were dropped on 7/22. The police did not have him in custody all that time without some form of judicial review/ initial arraignment. This matter had to be presented to the court. Either the District Attorney declined to prosecute – within his discretion – or a judge can dismiss. Either way, it wuould not be up to the police at this time.
Can someone provide facts regarding what happened after the arrest.
