DaveinPhoenix, public education being what it is (and has been for decades), teaching the gullible masses that it is Congress, not the Prez, who determines deficits and surpluses is either like spitting into the wind or an act of utter frustration. They are so used to hearing it is “the president’s budget” that they can’t conceive of it being Congress’ responsibility.

Fact: The Democratic Congress began work in January of 2007.

Fact: The recession officially started 6 months later.

Fact: The only federal budget surpluses in modern American history happened during a Republican Congress (1998-2001).

Democrats have the routine down perfectly from what I’ve witnessed and lived through in my 52 years:

1)Create a problem
2)Blame Republicans
3)Propose a new level of bureaucracy to “solve” problem

In 6 short months, this country has morphed into Venezuela where popular majority opinion is stifled by a minority group of thugs intent on depriving others of their hard fought liberties. Thanks to Nancy, Harry, and Barack.

These are the people who need to “shut up and get out of the way” – there’s a landslide heading right at them in 2010 and 2012. Enjoy !

Has anyone noticed that the Dopey smile on Dumbo has been getting noticeably more strained of late? Maybe His Hollowness is discovering there’s just a tad bit more to this job than strongarming businesses into submission over the “evil du jour” that he was so proficient at in Chicago.

Maybe it’s time for him to sit down and read the job description. You know, the one that’s found in the Constitution of the United States. Yes, I know he “taught” it, but come on now, the way he’s been going about his job can you really believe he’s really read and studied it?

If Obama wants to be judged by his legacy of bringing people together, then it is an abysmal failure.

Take a look at the political landscape, there are fights breaking out at Congressional townhalls, citizens have been asked to rat on other citizens at flag@whitehouse.gov.

Even Bush, at his worse, did better than this.

My problem is if he wants to clean up the mess, and doesn’t want the help of those who created the “mess”, then why is he not working with the Republican party?? Hell for years Bush and others tried to get DC to do the right thing. It was mostly the Dems who said no. This man is such a liar. Never in the history of man could a man wear both his faces at the exact same time. I just don’t see how people don’t see thru him. – Lorica

Oh, you had me worried for a second, ST – when I read your headline my first thought was “Uh oh, she’s going all birther on us!”

Jo, face it, we won’t be “cleaning his ass out of the White House” any earlier than January 2011, at the earliest. Grit your teeth and settle in for the long fight. We’re going to be figthting a rearguard action against socialism at least until 2010.

Come to think of it, we’ve been fighting a rearguard action against socialism since 1933.

I love how he thinks he can ‘clean this mess up.’ If we survive four years of him, the word ‘mess’ won’t even come close to describing the shambles of wrecked nation we will be. And someone please explain to me how his march to complete and total Socialism and dictatorialship is going to work when he is punishing us pay-ers and constantly rewarding, aiding and elevating the pay-ees of society? Who does he think is going to have to pay for all this so-called ‘cleaning’ he is doing? I say clean his ass out of the White House before it is entirely too late.
