I blame the Obama administration, and the Democrats, for the rapid increase in deaths of the soldiers in Afghanistan. The Democrats rush to placate their far left anti-American loony base by openly signaling their lack of will to see the war through to the end has given the enemy a new hope and a new opening, which they were quick to exploit with massive attacks all across the country. The enemy has made it no secret they also watch CNN and read the New York Times. And they’ve made it no secret they have studied the Vietnam War in detail. They are quick to exploit any division that pops up in the US Government.

I doubt that any one of those Washington politicians will have even the slightest thought of attending the funeral for Spc. Mace, a man who dwarfed them by many magnitudes in moral stature. And even though they can’t tear themselves away from their mistresses, lobbyist parties, and fund raisers even for a few hours to honor a true hero like Spc. Mace, at least the vast majority of regular Americans like me can say “Thank you Spc. Mace for your service, honor, and heroism”.

You’ve set the bar pretty high for the rest of us but at least most of us will try to live up to your expectations. And we’ll work hard to make sure your sacrifice won’t be in vain. Rest in peace.

Bless you, Spc. Mace, and Vaya con Dios. We as a nation are truly blessed in whom we have defending us, more so than we deserve. Let us strive to be worthy.
