Quote of the day

“I cannot claim to have completely read “Going Rogue” — I had to skim the last 150 pages (or more than one-third). I only got the thing into my hands late Monday afternoon with a deadline of early evening. It’s terrible, I know, but if I didn’t read it all, neither can Sarah Palin claim to have completely written it. “

- Ana Marie Cox, who has written at several sites including Time’s Swampland blog and the Playboy forum, who is a correspondent for Air America (and who is the original “Wonkette”), trying to explain away her brief effort at writing a “review” of Sarah Palin’s book.

Seriously, WaPo – why did you even bother publishing a review by someone who had not read the book in full?

To answer your last question, ST, it’s because, like Mr. Rather’s accusations against GWB in 2004, it isn’t what’s real that counts but the essence of how a socialist interprets anything without having to bother with such messy things as “facts”.

Seriously, the dame could have written her review without so much as reading the dust cover, and I do admire her admission of not having read it entirely, but that’s about as weak as Rather’s rather weak apology after he was tossed under the bus.

The truth to a liberal is simply something to use only when one can gain a severe advantage; otherwise, lies work so much better.

The really funny thing is that as of the time I write this, there are twenty comments SLAMMING her for admitting she hadn’t read the book, saying the review was at a 7th grade level etc. The one person who wrote in sympathy of disliking Palin, still blasted her for not reading the book.

LOL What an awesome piece of work, I wonder if her review was nominated for a Pulitzer before it was written, nobel peace prize style.

Is there a “Cliff’s Notes” version out yet? :-/

  4. Wait, Air Deadbeat has correspondents? Double wait, they’re still in business?

They began blasting the book even before the preliminary copies were out…so why waste time reading it?

One pundit on FOX said it was a bunch of bellyaching…Huh? O’Reilly set him straight and told him to read it first, too.

And I ask the same question as William…there’s still an Air America? (maybe on satellite?)
