Global warming alarmists exposed?

If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW. The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka Hadley CRU) and released 61 megabites of confidential files onto the internet. (Hat tip: Watts Up With That)
When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at Hadley CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:
Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.
One of the alleged emails has a gentle gloat over the death in 2004 of John L Daly (one of the first climate change sceptics, founder of the Still Waiting For Greenhouse site), commenting:
“In an odd way this is cheering news.”
But perhaps the most damaging revelations – the scientific equivalent of the Telegraph’s MPs’ expenses scandal – are those concerning the way Warmist scientists may variously have manipulated or suppressed evidence in order to support their cause.

A few things that go without saying: 1) Hacking into someone’s emails and private files is obviously wrong, and it should be prosecuted. 2) In spite of the title of this email, I’m well aware – as are those who read this blog – that global warming alarmists have been exposed as fearmongering chicken little liars (not to mention hypocrites) for decades, but rarely has it been on a level where you actually have “scientists” and their associates caught on paper attempting to suppress data that is contra to their pre-desired result. And the few times these “scientists” have been clearly exposed, the MSM – predictably – engages in a cover-up of their own.
But this scandal has the potential to eclipse past agw scandals, to the point where the MSM will have no choice but to report on it. That said, when – if – the reports start filtering in, expect the angle on the stories not to be about the damaging information in the emails – information that, to my layman’s eyes, appears to show “scientists” trying to hide data that would hinder their pro-alarmist agenda, but instead about how it was an “invasion of privacy” with quotes from “scientists” and those in related fields expressing “outrage” that the hard work of their colleagues has been “compromised.” The same MSM – and many of the same lefties – who yawned back when Sarah Palin’s personal email account was hacked into last year, will rise up in favor of stonger laws that would allow for tougher punishment for hackers.
As they say, this story is developing – so hold on to your hats.

Once you’re a true blue believer in that stuff it’s hard to give up.

Since the Hadley CRU is a UK government-funded organization, they are subject to the UK-equivalent of FOIA (Freedom of Information Act). Numerous requests for documents under existing laws were stone-walled. Whoever finally released the information was a whistleblower, not a hacker.
There is a God. While we must deplore the alleged hacking into the Holy of Holies of AGW scientists’ lair, the damning documents should result in the tarring and feathering of these propagandists. BTW since the democraps held up cigarette company scientists and execs to ridicule before congressional committees, I say our legislators should haul these evil scientists before them to testify under oath about their conspiracies, destruction and manipulation of data, and other fraudulent misconduct which should result in their firings and/or imprisonment.

Why should they be prosecuted? Was the college student (son of a Democrat Rep in Missouri) prosecuted and convicted for hacking into Palin’s Alaska account last year?????
I’ve never really known which way to go on this whole issue of global warming but the fact that all the liberal loonies in the far left latched on to it years ago and made it one of their top priorities has made me very suspect about the data they cite.
Now that I’ve seen this disturbing information about the emails, I’m really very suspicious. However, look for the liberal media to bury this story as quickly as possible so the general public doesn’t become educated with the facts.
I’m shocked – shocked, I say! Why, the very idea that evil humanity is not responsible in its entirety to global warming is so foreign as to be laughable.
Off with their heads! The hackers, not the lying, hypocritical, sleazy, unethical phony scientists who’ve led such mental giants as Waxman, Reid, Pelousy and Schumer down such an ill-gotten path.

I think we all knew that someone had to take their finger out of the dike of evidence against global warming theories. Here we have an example of scientists trying to withhold the necessary evidence of their theory. Sort of against any scientific process I know. If they were so correct, why the subterfuge?
This was not hacking…this was damn good investigative reporting. Something we haven’t seen in decades. Getting to the source and finding a way to get the truth out….if this was a Bush/Cheney thing we’d hear about it….like, hey, they were covering up all the scientific data that proves us right!

Typically, the line in this morning local fishwrap was, “Move along, folks – nothing to see here.”
The “scientist” whose e-mail was hacked is saying there’s reasonable explanations for everything there, such as the “trick” that was mentioned.
Ya, right.
I suppose, if one were to take the time to listen to a guy about to fly a plane into one of the Twin Towers, there was a reasonable explanation for that, too.
