Weekend Open Thread

I’m getting ready to go meet my sis and we’ll be headed to the movie theater to see if we can catch the New Moon movie this morning before the crowds pick up in the afternoon. Yes – I’m a Twilight fan. :">

I understand the Senate will have a “test vote” tonight on healthcare, a vote that will determine if Senators can begin debating the monstrous healthcare bill on the floor. Lord willing and I don’t faint from seeing Edward Cullen on the big screen, I should be around to blog about it. :D

    Twilight /yawn…. Vampires have a very bad smell, which in no way can be considered sexy. Anytime I hear of these sexy vampire movies, I equate this to sexy zombie movies but with fewer body parts falling on the ground. The undead is just that undead, they are all the same, alot like democrats. – Lorica

    S.T., didn’t you hear?? Cullen is a HUGE Obama supporter!! He helped campaign for him and talked about how much he hates conservatives!! He also said that strong, conservative women like Palin are dangerous to the very foundation of America itself. He also said that strong, conservative bloggers are the very definition of evil and should be shut down by force, if necessary.

    Hope the movie is worth it….sometimes a flight of fantasy will help get you over the bumps in life. Which is why the Hollyweird crowd stays in business even during depressions/recessions.

    Ok and now for something completely different!!!

    Is everyone ready for their Thanksgiving?? I have to find my recipe for this shrimp/macaroni salad, and I am cooking 1 turkey and 1 breast as I love cold turkey sandwiches. Ohhh which reminds me I have to go to Hy-Vee to buy there Amana potato bread for sandwiches. YUM!!

    Okay, I am desperately trying to get this straight in my head! We are going to have ObamaCare and it will cost citizens in Nevada less–having a “thanks to Harry Reid” delay on paying into the program. Now Louisiana gets $3 million more Medicare? How does this work? If you are a senior, should you be mvoing to Louisiana? These politicians who are “wheeling & dealing” are exempt from using this disasterous program but are willing to use it to punish seniors for surviving long enough to collect Social Security–so if the government denys medical treatment, seniors die earlier, and they don’t collect Social Security checks? I can’t see how this bill is going to do anything but give the government more power over our lives while limiting them. If these politicians want this sooo much, why not include all Congress in the program and save the money we spend on THEIR Cadillac program?

    Hey B, Thats 3 HUNDRED million not 3 million. The whole thing is a buy votes scam. The real tragic thing is that most the people who are going to be forced into this boondoggle are not going to vote Dem because of this thing. These people are just blind with their tunnel vision.

    Also, for access to their Navy clinic that is in the Capitol building it runs about 500.00 per year. Isn’t that sweet. – Lorica
