Ben Nelson: The latest Democrat sellout on the healthcare “reform” bill.

It’s not totally over yet (more here), but the writing is on the wall – and it is not pretty.

Next up? The House and Senate reconciliation process. Stay tuned.

What else is new? The majority of the American people are OPPOSED to this plan. The bill was not posted for 72 hours like Obama promised it would be.

The Senate will vote at Monday, 1am. Why 1am? So the Senators can be long gone out of Washington when people wake up and see the results. Not to mention its during the holidays. The dems are simply pathetic.

    Absolutely disgusting.

I remember shortly before the ’08 election ST posted a blog about Obama voters who, when they realize what his plans are for America, would say, “I didn’t vote for this!” She expressed little sympathy for this sentiment, and I posted a comment seconding that. Now, dear repentant Obama voter, it is time for us all to reap the bitter harvest that you so foolishly, thoughtlessly and rashly sowed.

It appears that the only urgency of the situation that needed a Christmas deadline was the urgency to further punish taxpaying citizens and producers, start redistributing the wealth as soon as possible in order to completely tank our economy, diminish and crush the will of our citizens and small businesses. This frenzy taking place in Washington right now is borderline treason. Is this why we couldn’t accomodate a commanding General during war? We needed to try to force people to pay for abortions, higher insurance premiums, and pay off Senators with other people’s money like they were prostitutes? They spend our hard earned money like pigs with insatiable appetites feeding at a trough. When the trough gets low they just squeal louder for more. These pigs in Congress and the pig in the white house will be recorded in the history books as the most incompetent, cowardly, foolish idealogue sellouts in the history of our country who will have the distinction of being the ones in power that ruined the greatest nation on earth for their own personal gain.

“He believed that health care for all our citizens was a fundamental right.” (Kennedy’s widow speaking)

I’m just sure it was a simple oversight on his part that Mary Jo did not receive the proper health care that was her “right” because he was a drunken slutmaster too stewed to give a rip about her right to life, let alone health care.

:-? Best darned government money can buy…

Unlike most entitlement plans, I think there’s a good chance this one can be repealed (assuming it gets passed). The supposed benefits don’t begin until 2014, while the new taxes will bite right away. If the Republicans regain control of Congress in 2010 or 2012, I can see tremendous pressure for repealing the law.

Conservatives will wait for him in the long grass. He is now voting for Socialism. He can no longer masquerade as a conservative. Nelson could have fireproofed his position by standing up to Barack the Socialist. His shameful u-turn on abortion will come back to haunt him. He has sacrificed the unborn. His has been an abject surrender. He is a political coward.
He is now voting for the culture of death. Pro-life voters have long memories. So have taxpayers.

  8. Bill says:

    Wow! Congressmen (and Congresswomen) trading
votes for money in late night, back-room deals! Who would have thought? I’m sure the “Transparent President” will put a stop to that.

  9. NC Cop says:

What I can’t figure out is why people are so surprised about this? Did we not tell anyone who would listen that this is EXACTLY what Obama had in mind? Are they ignorant? Were they blind?

He had done precisely what we’ve said he would, creating a socialist America.

“Lets make a deal” or “the price is right” or any other catchy phrase you would like to make. The result is no less disgusting. The abuse of the legislative process is something that will hopefully result in punishment in the polls.

Nelson gets the other 49 states to pick up Nebraska’s Medicaid tab, plus cuts deals for tax breaks for Blue Cross and Mutual of Omaha located in Nebraska.

Landrieu and Sanders get Medicaid subsidies for their states, to the tune of about $300 million for Landrieu and Louisiana. The deceit and payoffs that Harry Reid and President Obama are employing is beyond contempt.

Now that the “health care” bill has passed its first test, maybe the elephants can push enough of the “progressive” agenda out of it that the loony leftists (starting with Pelousy and Dingy) will vote against it because it doesn’t deprive us citizens enough. At least get enough out of it to give Bahney a heart attack.
