It never stops (via Jim Hoft):
After explaining why absent GOP members who did not vote for the Department of Defense spending bill was tantamount to a “no” vote, he went on to say that Republicans and their supporters just want to “break” the momentum of President Obama.:
“Voting ‘no’ and hiding from the vote are the same result. Those of us on the floor see it. It was clear the three of them who did not cast their yes votes until all 60 Senate votes had been tallied and it was clear that the result was a foregone conclusion. And why? Why all this discord and discourtesy, all this unprecedented destructive action? All to break the momentum of our new young president.
They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one.”
He said that during a floor speech yesterday prior to the “historic” 60-40 vote for cloture on ObamaCare. You can watch the video here.
We’ll just add this to the long list of insults and smears thrown at opponents of ObamaCare from the so-called “tolerant” left over the last year, like mobsters, “un-American,” Astroturfers, fascists, terrorists, brownshirts, racists, assassins, and Neanderthals.
Weren’t these the same ones who threw temper tantrums whenever they felt like their patriotism and commitment to the American people were being questioned during the Bush years, who were saying that the tone in Washington, DC needed to “change”?
Just more “change” – in attitude – that you can believe in.
Absolutely disgusting. I don’t think these idiots have a clue to the kind of resentment and anger that they are stirring up.
Sadly, the damage done to this country by the Obama administration will take decades to undo, if it can be undone at all.
Whitehouse is a pig and I sincerely hope the Republicans hold him accountable for this.
Well let’s not forget the biggest slam of them all….teabaggers. It is amazing how racist people like Whitehouse really are. They can’t form an argument against what is being said, so they run to, “You’re a racist”. What garbage, such little minds. The Democrat party really has become the whore of Babylon. Selling themselves to the highest bidder, sadly it is only going to get worse. – Lorica
some of these senators must be from an alternate universe…where is there any evidence to support the things this guy says? it really is a shame that voters haven’t opened their eyes and seen the reality and scope of the enormous debt being hoisted upon the taxpayers present and future.
Whitehouse is exactly the type of person that facilitated Hitlers take over of the German republic in 1933. He uses the same tactics as the Nazis(national Socialist German Workers Party) and is helping us down that same road.
When obama starts his takeover I am sure Whitehouse will be given a very high position. Afterall…loyalty gives you a promotion.
Davie, you are exactly right. My mom is a child of WWII and she saw a lot of what Hitler did later (she was only 5 in ’33). She has expressed great anger and fear (not to mention the disbelief) at what she sees happening now that mirrors those days (sigh).
This is a disgrace. Of course it’s standard operating procedure for the progressive/socialists who hurl insults at anyone who disagrees with them. They don’t have a salient response or really want to debate facts because they have no facts to back up their arguments.
Hey, wait till the mass of average Americans get hold of those Congressional election ballots in November 2010 and the Presidential election ballots in November 2012. Whitehouse, and the Whitehouse, ain’t seen nothing yet! The birthers, the fanatics, the right-wing militias, the teabaggers, and the Aryans will be the very least of Obama’s, and his Liberal pal’s, problems.
Memo to Democratic National Committee: change Democratic Party motto to “Duh!”.
NC Cop:
Actually, I think it can be undone, assuming it passes in the first place. The way the bill is structured, all the taxes start immediately, but the expenses (the entitlements the progressives hope to bribe us with and hook us on) don’t start until 2014. In other words, four years of more money taken from your checks with nothing in return. If public anger does sweep the Democrats out in the next two elections (what Jay Cost is calling a “Jacksonian moment”), there could be plenty of momentum for repeal and minimal resistance.
Naturally, I’d rather see the whole thing defeated now, but the odds are long against that, now.
Forgot to mention: Even more than objections to the HCR bills themselves (and bad as they are) I have to wonder if anger at the highhanded and arrogant way the Democrats have treated their constituents will play an even bigger role in a possible defeat in 2010.
The amazing thing is that these dems believe that if they simply get up an blather, blame the GOP for being obstructionist, claim that the Republicans had nothing to offer in terms of creating the bill, etc., that the American people will believe them.
The sad thing is that history has shown us that a lot of Americans, seeing only those soundbite surrounded by ‘confirmation’ from liberal media, WILL believe them.
This is a real issue of the arrogance of power. Now that they have control, they are giving us the real nature of their quest.
Although they feign that all will people will benefit, they are short on details, i.e. All Will Pay and keep paying and increase their payments as they unfold and then remold and restructure and finally implement their “health care plan/insurance” – because in the long run it will be a government invasion into our personal lives of historic proportion. Your health, your very body, your right to privacy with your doctor….etc. etc. etc. I don’t know about anyone else, but this is very scary. If people don’t GET IT soon, we are all going to see the end of America as it once was.
All this minimizing of the true potential of people’s disdain for the process of making this bill could, however, be their downfall. They are underestimating or in complete denial of how people will truly react. Society has created a world where there is a need for instantaneous gratification. Waiting until 2014 while paying ahead is against the way people act is reality. Do they think people are going to happily pay more taxes and during those years as we all find out the truly ineffective ways in which they have devised to destroy health care insurance carriers and have everyone lined up to have a health care system run by the federal government? Who is being unrealistic?
My money is on the people…my hope is that everyone will get a clue and inundate their representatives and senators and tell them personally to KNOCK IT OFF!
Judging from his comments, Sheldon Whitehouse should be forced to personally reinstall the “Arbeit Macht Frei” sign that was recently stolen from Auschwitz (and fortunately recovered).
Maybe then Sheldon would understand the true level of his ignorance and idiocy.
Just had a thought….could we sue Whitehouse for hate speech?
Can we sue for hate speech??
Any attorneys reading?
I am very tired of being called names because I cannot agree with the destruction of our country.
I believe members of Congress have a form of parliamentary immunity that prevents them for being sued for what they say in debate.
Of course they do, Anthony. That bunch of political whores, thieves, grifters and liars have a whole different set of rules to live (and steal and lie) by.
And, BTW, I’m not talking just the jackass party, either.
