Snuck online for a few minutes before I have to go back downstairs to finish up the cooking (we’ve already set the fire alarm smoke detector off this morning – YAY!). Merry Christmas, my dear readers – and to your families as well. And a special Merry Christmas to our men and women serving overseas, who can’t be with their families on Christmas Day. May God bless you and keep you safe so you can come home for the next Christmas.
Here’s hoping and praying for many blessings in the new year for everyone.
From today’s Purpose Driven Life Daily Devo:
From the Gospel of Luke we see the birth announcement of Jesus -
Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified.
The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.”
At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises:
Glory to God in the heavenly heights,
Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.Luke 2:9-14 (MSG)
And, of course, my favorite explanation of what Christmas is all about:
Amen.

Merry Christmas, ST. Just remember, the food’s not done until the smoke alarm’s ringing
I think I was eight before I realized that wasn’t the stove timer!
Thank you, ST, and Merry Christmas to all of you and yours. Seriously.
Also, I’m so glad to be near the end of the incessant, puerile and incredibly inane “Happy Holidays.”
Oh really? Which holiday is that, pray tell? Go on, you can say it, and you won’t melt and your hair won’t catch on fire.
I understand not everyone is a Christian, and that commercialism has inundated this particular holy day of Christianity, but fer cryin’ out loud, get over it! People have the other 364 days a year to spew their hate and venom (also know as “public discourse” if done by a liberal), so give it a rest and enjoy the spirit of the day and let us, too.
With this day also springs new hope for the coming year. With any luck the jackals of Congress will get enough of an earful over their (one of many) vacations and go back to D.C. in no mood to compromise, and the killing “gift” they gave us yesterday won’t pass either or both chambers after being combined and kneaded and butchered.
Now, THAT would be a truly great gift!
Merry Christmas!
Glory Be to God!! Merry Christmas One and All. May this day be a wonderful and joyous time for all who read this. I pray for our troops abroad that they may know the we are with them in spirit. May God’s hand protect them.
God Bless You and Your Family Dear. As always you are in my prayers, and I pray you have a wonderful Christmas time, and a truly great new Year. – Lorica
Merry Christmas, ST, and to one and all here!
Oh, and I hope you remembered to share with the fire department after they showed up for the alarm.
Postscript: A neat article I came across this morning on the origins and history of Christmas.
Merry Christmas y’all! Have a great day! God Bless
Merry Christmas!
